The Telecommunications Technician works closely with the Outside Plant Manager to maintain and expand the existing fiber network. Specifically, the Telecommunications Technician:
1-3 years experience in outside plant and fiber installations. 2+ years experience in splicing, fiber termination, and profiling preferred. Highly motivated, trustworthy individual with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team. Customer service and basic programming skills a plus. Hands on knowledge and experience in use of basic tools and bucket truck lift operations. Must demonstrate ability to read AutoCAD outputs, blueprints, and other drawings. HS Diploma or equivalent. Experience with PONs, FTTP/FTTH networks, OTDR trace evaluations, VOIOP, and PA-1 service calls preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) capabilities a plus. OSHA trained a plus.
The Data Center Administrator helps maintain the infrastructure of large scale data centers and remote IT support rooms within the T. Rowe Price organization. The position works within the Global Business Solutions (GBS & T) organization to install, maintain and monitor hardware, power, space, and data communications equipment within TRP data centers. This position provides a valuable service to the Global Business Solutions (GBS & T) and business organizations in order to continue providing state of the art, technological solutions to our customers.
Primary Responsibilities: Installing/removing servers. Fiber/KVM/Terminal server connections. Testing fiber. Balancing power. Firmware update pushes. Willing to travel. On call 24/7 every 6 weeks. Occasional weekend work. KVM/Terminal Server configuration. Environmental monitoring. Data Center Heating and Cooling. Able to work independent.
